With Apple buying Beats Audio, it seemed appropriate to do a Apple/Beats hack.

I have a Beats by Dre Pro Detox edition but unlike the Solos or Studios, it doesn't come with bluetooth and I very much like bluetooth over wired headsets.

So I decided to open up my Pro's. I personally HATE wires so I removed the wired functionality and replace it with bluetooth.

But how to charge it....hmmm....why not an Apple lightning connector to go with my iPhone 5S?

I present to you the first Apple Beats bluetooth headset that charges from a lightning connector!

I started off by disassembling the Beats Pros. The original cables were 3 magnet wires. I used 4x smaller gauge wires which turned out not to fit as well as I wanted.

I had to modify the connector to allow the smaller gauge wires to enter.

This was the original button I used. Later on I decided to go with a smaller button for a nicer look.

I took an Apple lightning extension connector and removed the lightning dock. Then I 3d printed a faceplate for it.

These are the pictures in which I decided to replace the smaller gauge wires with 30 gauge magnet wires. These fit a lot nicer and appeared more stock.

The smaller button I used. I 3d printed another faceplate to cover it.
